The base Volvo XC60 powertrain is now called B5, and the uplevel version is the B6.
In both the B5 and the B6, a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder adds a new 48-volt hybrid system.
The XC60 B6, which swaps a conventional supercharger to one that is driven by an electric motor, now makes 295 horsepower, a slight decrease, but torque improves to 310 pound-feet
All-wheel drive is standard on the XC60 B6 and optional on the B5.
Both the XC60 B5 and B6 are available in R-Design trim, with black exterior trim, a trim-specific mesh grille, and matte-finish 19-inch wheels. The 21-inch wheels pictured here are optional.
Fuel economy improves slightly with the new powertrains.
The R-Design features nappa leather, but a new wool textile can be had in the Inscription trim.
The familiar 9.0-inch vertical touchscreen now features a Google-based operating system.
Like all Volvos, the XC60 features sleek, Scandinavian-inspired styling.
An updated grille, lower fascia, and wheel designs mark the 2022 model year.
