Only AMG could turn a small, boxy crossover with three rows of seats into a 302-hp machine with a raucous personality.

The GLB35 is the AMG version of the Mercedes-Benz GLB-class crossover.
The GLB35 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four with 302 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.
The AMG model comes standard with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive.
Compared with the base 221-hp GLB250, the GLB35 is significantly quicker to 60 mph.
Visually, the AMG model is lower and has distinct styling touches, including a unique front grille and different wheels.
Despite its performance ambitions, the GLB35 is still offered with a small third row of seats that gives it seven-passenger capacity.
Our test car was equipped with many options that drove its as-tested price to $61,485.
The 19-inch wheels seen here are optional, and even larger 20- and 21-inch wheels are available.
This color is called Denim Blue Metallic and is a $720 option.
The interior is finished in a two-tone Titanium Grey and black color scheme and features optional black wood trim.
