Uber has signed a partnership with IT Taxi, the premier taxi dispatch support in Italy, in a tie-up aimed at boosting the firm’s presence in the country.
The offer will make it possible for IT Taxi’s 12,000 taxi drivers to acknowledge outings through the Uber app, covering 90 cities across the country, according to a statement produced Tuesday.
It arrives as Uber and other ride-hailing apps grapple with an ongoing scarcity of motorists, which has led to greater fares and longer waiting situations.
Uber claimed the pact would assist the agency expand its existence in Italy, Europe’s fourth-largest financial state.

For years, Uber has faced opposition from Italian taxi motorists. The company was the goal of protests from taxi motorists in 2017, who accused it of partaking in unfair opposition.
