Uber hires Expedia exec to fill HR role

Uber has a new head of human sources. Her retain the services of comes almost 3 months immediately after the controversial exit of the earlier HR chief.

Nikki Krishnamurthy will substitute Liane Hornsey, who still left Uber in early July right after an internal investigation into how she handled racial discrimination statements within just the company, the company introduced on Tuesday.

Krishnamurthy comes from Expedia in which she served as its chief people today officer. She worked with Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi. Right before becoming a member of Uber previous August, Khosrowshahi put in a decade primary Expedia.

In a assertion, Khosrowshahi called Krishnamurthy a “trusted partner” who will help “evolve our society.”

The move marks yet another important hire beneath Khosrowshahi, who has been tasked with cleaning up the company’s corporate tradition.

Uber has confronted with a string of scandals, including widespread allegations of gender and sexual harassment that led to co-founder Travis Kalanick’s resignation as CEO in June 2017.

Krishnamurthy, whose title is chief men and women officer, will oversee Uber’s human assets, recruiting, place of work, and diversity and inclusion groups. She starts on October 8.
