Another electric Ford pickup truck is coming, Farley says

Ford officially launched production of the 2022 F-150 Lightning nowadays, and Jim Farley snuck a little nugget of future electric powered truck information into his speech.

“I want we could provide you down there, but we’re now pushing filth down in Blue Oval City for a further electric powered pickup truck that is diverse than this 1,” Farley claimed.

“Down there” is referring to the Stanton, Tenn. mega campus Ford is creating for electric powered car or truck assembly, battery creation and as a supplier park. It is established to open up in 2025. You can hear to Farley’s comment from the 35:49 mark in the video directly down below.

Farley followed his remarks about a new, mysterious and yet-to-come electrical pickup with much more electric truck discuss.

“We have every single intention of becoming the number a single electric pickup maker.”

Right after hearing Farley’s remark, we reached out to Ford to make clear or probably glean extra expertise about the undefined “different” electric powered pickup truck that Farley is talking about, but a Ford spokesperson was not right away available.

Current pickups marketed in the U.S. that could be made electrical include things like the Ranger and Maverick nameplates. The Ford Ranger’s German cousin, the VW Amarok, has been rumored to give an electric powered variant within just the truck’s current lifecycle, but there’s very little particular about that.

The higher than stated, we’re only remaining to guess until Ford tends to make its intentions clearer on this long run electric powered pickup. For now, know that there will at some point be a second Blue Oval with a mattress that you can plug in. We’ll eagerly await a lot more information and facts when Ford is prepared to provide it.
